Pray Tehillim for Mashiah to win the war.

1 Tammuz 5781 (Rosh Hodesh B)

Sefer Tehillim, The Rashi Edition. Here are a lot of versions of Tehillim covers.

A call has gone out from at least one rabbi I am aware of, R' Yekutiel Fish (more specific information about the reason for this post was found here*), for prayer for Mashiah because he needs the help of every single Jew in order to win his wars. There may be more, but I don't know who they are.

It doesn't matter whether it's Mashiah ben Yosef or Mashiah ben David, and it doesn't matter whether we know who each of them really is at this point in time, as long as they are the real deal and as long as they remain hidden from us; but in any case, I have begun participating in prayer with that intention.

According to the article linked above, righteous hidden tzaddikim have been praying for him for a number of years now, using a set of selected chapters comprising the following 10 Tehillim.

All Jews are welcome to participate. If you decide to, you may choose your preference below: Hebrew alone, English alone, or both.

And many thanks in advance!

NOTE: Trying to be practical, the order of the perakim/chapters are designed to accommodate several different styles used by Tehillim readers, and to make it easier for people who aren't as experienced (like me!) at reading Tehillim as others, or who like to read them in English, whether alone or with the Hebrew. Links are to Sefaria's version of Tehillim

Or, you can download a PDF of them.

Other language speakers may want to either use Hebrew or translate to your language, to the right on the sidebar. →→

Or, just use your own Sefer Tehillim and be guided by the numbers here. 😇

Whatever you can do, it all counts!

Hodesh Tov uMevorach!

Since prayer is never enough in the world of action (asiyah), here's a video that spells out a number of things that MUST be done in the world of action:

This was very nice of you to post this. But from my vantage point, the Tehillim is actually focused on the rabbi connected to the source of your information link, which has declared their rabbi a “Mashiach”, and they are trying to help him out of his difficult situation. Only Hashem knows who the Mashiach is.

And, I have a big doubt about this: "prayer for Mashiah because he needs the help”. Mashiach is more powerful than any human being we know. Mashiach is strengthened by Hashem when it is his time to go into action.

Our prayers should be focused on causing more Jews in the world to come closer to Hashem, and recognise and believe that ALL POWER AND ACTIONS IN THIS WORLD ARE FROM HIM. We can ask and beg Hashem to SEND His Redeemer. Hashem is presently moving things around. We are witnessing many events that are speaking to us.

You're very welcome, Reuven.

It occurred to me during my prayers this morning: Anyone who thinks Mashiah isn't supposed to require saving, or help to win wars, ought to carefully read Psalm 20, especially verse 7.

(In particular: "anointed" = mashiah; "ki hoshi'a haShem m'shiho" = that haShem saves His Mashiah.)

And kindly observe that the author of this perek Tehillim is the ancestor of Mashiah himself, Melech — King — David.

I am curious about how anyone — even a redactor of the Talmud, who did so to confuse people — can deny his authority on his descendant (may he be revealed quickly)?

To Neshama, who wrote her comment above six (6) months before the following occurred, and to those who may not have heard until now (or not seen my notice above):

Rabbi Eliezer Berland, the rabbi Neshama was referring to, was absolved of all the crimes he had been accused of for many, many years, and was freed from prison on 15 December 2021. It turns out that his accusers were the ones who committed all the crimes!

See both sides of the story: Search: Eliezer Berland freed and The Rav Finally Comes Home.

I am surprised that accusations against the Rav still come up on search engines, after all this, with no corrections, even after the court said its final words on the matter.

Which do you believe? There doesn't seem to be room for middle ground. Others have also suffered mockery and shame for no reason. I sensed this about Rav Berland a long time ago, which is why I defended his right to being treated like any other human being.

And, by the way, I came to understand that Rav Berland BELIEVES in accepting ביזיון "bizayón" - which in Hebrew means shame, humiliation and disgrace - as part of his way of doing things, especially if and when he is innocent of the charges others bring against him, whether in court or not. Until now he has been successful in both receiving it and overcoming it.

This is something Breslever Jews strive for, in general.

And I am not a Breslever. The whole bizayón thing scares me, for reasons I will not go into here, except for the fact that nearly all Jews, especially innocent ones, have experienced it at one time or another.
